Vick soon to be the only man standing in a federal dogfighting case - News - MSNBC.com

Well, of course he's going to be the only one. The other's charged in this case have been scared into accepting plea bargains, so Michael Vick, the one with everything to lose, will stand alone in this case. And, again, part of their plea-bargain is the save your own ass theory of law, testify against him, and maybe we'll smack your hand.

Did you know in the state of Virginia there is no such thing as entrapment? Oh, yeah, Virginia did away with that a long time ago.

Which means a law enforcement agency can set you up any which way they want to, approach you in any way, shape, or form, and down the road, you cannot accuse them of trying to entrap you into breaking the law.

*ENTRAPMENT - A person is 'entrapped' when he is induced or persuaded by law enforcement officers or their agents to commit a crime that he had no previous intent to commit; and the law as a matter of policy forbids conviction in such a case.

*The 'Lectric Law Library

In the Indictment, references are made to the Cooperating Witness Known to the Grand Jury. Well, I for one, would like to know how they knew them. These are the people in Virginia who sold them four pit bull puppies to begin with. So, we're to believe that Cooperating Witness #1 sold these puppies knowing full well what they would be used for, because that's the way the game is played people. By also turning evidence against Michael Vick, they get a slap on the hand.

The deeper you look into this shit the worse it stinks.

Hmmmm nothing to add since I know not much about this case.

May the good be rewarded and the bad punished. Yeah... right!

Hey Deb,
Things are okay here, my older son has the mayor working at the pool he manages and he's been clean for almost 2 weeks now. I'm taking it one day at a time. Anyhoo Virginia sucks, I just don't understand no entrapment law but your talking to the woman who's husband spent the night in jail for riding his sons jr bike on the sidewalk. Love ya

All of them should be thrown into a pit of dogs and made into chew toys. Now that would be justice!

Sure sounds like it could be a set-up. Only question is Why?

Everyone should go down for this.

Those "saving-their-own-ass" witnesses are a scam and anyone with half a brain should know it. In fact, much about the (in)justice system is a scam.
That said, IF Michael Vick or others really are guilty, I hope they get their comeuppance.

Hmmmm... So is he guilty of being a FAMOUS dog fighter?

Or just famous?

Or just a dog fighter?

In the state of Virginia, he's guilty for being a black man who made it good. And that's how it is down here in the land of Dixie. Martin Luther King Day is King, Jackson, Lee Day, or it was, meaning it is a day we set aside to celebrate Martin Luther King, Andrew Jackson, and Robert E. Lee. Does anyone else see something wrong with that picture? Don't ask me why this case has got me asking why? Call it a gut feeling. Maybe its because I have lived in Surry, and if shenanigans like this were going on, there is no way in hell, everyone wouldn't have known, and talked about it endlessly. I keep asking myself why would Vick involve himself with something like this knowing how much he has to lose. Arrogance? I just don't see it. Ok, stepping down from my soap box...making sure I don't trip on something...back on the ground now...

Didn't know the subtle nuance of Virginia law. Thanks for pointing it out.

I wish you and your family strength ....

They need to put them all in a pit with the pit bulls and give them milk bone shorts. :)

The plea bargain is a long standing court agreement that is used all over the U.S. It's a way for the prosecution to develop a case that will be virtually rock solid. Scare the hell out of some of them and they will gladly let it be known who the real mastermind is. It works in all kinds of cases. The prosecution likes it because it works for getting them re-elected in high profile cases. It's in use everywhere.
And I still don't know what Babzy is talking about when she says your web site is green.

I've watched my "Law and Order", and all they had to do was say, Get me a lawyer, and keep there mouths shut. But, anyway, its one of those things where you will probably never know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but.

Thanks, David McMahon, for stopping in. We are making it, as they say. But your well-wishes are taken kindly.

Cat, just imagine this page is any color you want it to be. Except putrid. Bruno evidently doesn't appreciate all of the delicate shades of green. I'm calling it whisper green.

It's funny I have told my kids if ever taken in to say nothing and request a lawyer because after watching Homicide it scares the crap out of me. Anyhooo girl stopping by to see how you are and wish ya a great weekend
