I found this while following a link a friend sent me in an email that stated the president's IQ was 91. I couldn't believe that. That meant we had elected Forest Gump. Which, all-in-all, would probably have been a better choice. Forest, with all his peculiarities did listen to people, and did have a basic understanding of the English language. But, I digress. I followed the link to the Lovenstien Institute, and damn if it wasn't right there. Then, I thought I would check out the president's views on the first amendment, and encountered one of those hateful pages like this one :

File - First Amendment - Does Not Exist

The First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States cannot be found.
Possible reasons are:

Installation of the USA Patriot Act (USAPA) on or after October 26th, 2001 (this automatically deletes Free Speech).

Installation of a Police State in readiness for USAPA-2

Classification of the First Amendment as unpatriotic.

Your ISP or Search Engine may be denying access to sites which are unpatriotic and/or promote Free Speech.

The Free Speech option appears to be unavailable in your State. Your Civil Liberties have been uninstalled.

To reinstall the First Amendment select the Election option from the Options menu:

From the pull-down list of Available Candidates, deselect Bush Administration and enter a tick against your preferred Presidential Candidate.
You are advised to carefully read the specifications of your chosen Presidential Candidate to ensure that it supports the following options:
First Amendment, Civil Liberties, Free Speech and that it allows the following to be disabled: Wire-Tap, Electronic Surveillance, Pen/Trap and Sub Poena.
This may be a temporary error as a result of your internet link being monitored

HTTP 404 - First Amendment not found
Free Speech Not Available*

You are now under surveillance as a result of seeking Free Speech.

Lovenstein is a hoax.

http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/lovenstein.html

http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/hoaxes/presiq.htm

Claim: According to a study by the Lovenstein Institute, President Bush has the lowest IQ of all presidents of past 50 years.

Status: False.

Origins: No, this isn't a real news report, nor does it describe a real study. There isn't a "Lovenstein Institute" in Scranton, Pennsylvania (or anywhere else in the USA), nor do any of the people quoted in the story exist, because this is just another spoof that was taken too seriously.

The article quoted above began circulating on the Internet during the summer of 2001. In furtherance of the hoax, later that year pranksters thought to register www.lovenstein.org and erect a web site around it in an attempt to fool people into thinking there really was such an institute.

Speaking of IQ's, an actual study shows that Bush's IQ is higher than John Kerry's:

I knew I shouldn't allow anonymous comments. Can anyone say satire? Can anyone say sense of humor? Who gives a rat's ass if its true or not? As far as I'm concerned, GW has the IQ of a slug. IQ and common sense don't always go hand-in-hand.

And don't you just love those people who dig through snopes, like it was the fucking bible or something, just to challenge everything that is printed? "And here in Chapter 4, verse 98, in the Snopes Standard American Version.."

And, last but not least, is furtherance a real word? (Well, damn if it ain't!) futherance: The act of furthering, advancing, or helping forward: “Pakistan does not aspire to any . . . role in furtherance of the strategies of other powers” (Ismail Patel).
I learned something new today!!

I don't know, I kinda enjoyed the hell outta it! And YOU have no problem expressing yourself! And, yes, you DID learn something today, and that was, that the character Forrest Gump, in the movie, at least served in 'Nam, unlike G.W. Bush!!! OK!!! YOUR TURN.....!

I learned something new today as well. The anonymous commenter is an asshole and so is george bush.

When someone comes and defends a spoof or satire or parody, they must feel pretty damned threatened by it all. Sorry for an individual that is that insecure. But I suppose that insecurity comes naturally when you back a fucking liar. A killer of our good Warriors and civilians abroad.

If I backed the wrong horse and couldn't hold my head up because of the proven lies, I guess I'd lash out too. But there would be one difference. I am a real human being with a name, I am Spadoman. I am not anonymous. If I'm wrong, then I am wrong. I won't hide behind a phony name.

I don't have any money, and my health is failing to some degree, but I have dignity.

You know, I turned on that comment moderation thingy, but I'm not going to use it anymore. Cause, in a way, that is denying the readers of this blog their freedom of speech, so not wanting to cause my own error message, I will allow anonymous comments. What the hell, I can always delete them if they become too ugly, right?

Just me, I like to think that I went to Vietnam and laid my life on the line for exactly that reason. So you, and anonymous, can say what you want.

Well said, Spado, well said.

Just me: "Can anyone say satire? Can anyone say sense of humor?"

Yeah, right. Like you knew it all along. Many on your side of the aisle think its the real thing.

"Who gives a rat's ass if its true or not?"

Certainly not you.

Spadoman: "When someone comes and defends a spoof or satire or parody, they must feel pretty damned threatened by it all. Sorry for an individual that is that insecure. But I suppose that insecurity comes naturally when you back a fucking liar."

Projection. Who was "defending" a parody?

"If I backed the wrong horse and couldn't hold my head up because of the proven lies, I guess I'd lash out too."

More projection. Who here is lashing out?

"But there would be one difference. I am a real human being with a name, I am Spadoman. I am not anonymous. If I'm wrong, then I am wrong. I won't hide behind a phony name."

Really? So Spadoman is your given name? You parents named you that?

Unknown said...

Anonymous, I think I know who you really are. Your initials are G.W.B. And, I want you to know I am almost flattered!

Ok, to address your concerns, "like I knew it all along". Well, I guess the people on my side of the aisle,(wedding, funeral, church, what?)
believe absolutely everything we read. My bad. I mean I even believe Micheal Jackson is innocent!!! (Well...) For the people who don't know what satire or parady is, that's their problem, and yours, so it seems.

And, yes, his parents named him Spadoman. My parents named me Moonbeam, but I changed it.

The only one projecting here is you. Trying to project your belief system on everyone else. And, that's ok, you do what you gotta do to satisfy those compulsive urges.

Hey, I heard they had some updates on Snopes, man. Check it out!! You've got a lot of correcting to do today!

Oh, if you get an email from Nigeria, trust me, you're going to make a lot of money.

Another thing, did your parents name you anonymous? Do you have a brother named unknown, or a sister named unidentified? Just curious.

Here's a thought, Bill Clintons IQ is probably higher than both of them. Ha!
