Well, this would really explain why he kept saying I don't remember or I don't know during the Iran/Contra hearings. I don't think we should judge Reagan by his health during his presidency, though. He accomplished a great deal, and we were all terrified of him. He gave a great and lasting portrait to the American people of what we desire in a president. Strength, decisiveness, and a touch of ruthlessness. Did I agree with everything he said or did? No, but I felt safe.
