What's new?

Life has been going rather smoothly of late. It's a little scary for a worry wort like me. I keep waiting for the @#$@ to hit the fan.

My doctor changed my medication yet again. This time I was given a starter pack for Lamictal. I have taken it before, but every time you start this drug you have to slowly increase your dose. There is a slight risk of getting a life-threatening rash with this medication. Of course, whenever you read life-threatening, it does give you pause. However, the incidence of this rash is very small, and even the common aspirin has been associated with gastrointestinal bleeding.

I did not like the Risperadal at all. I felt woozy, and as my therapist put it, looked and acted foggy. I take everything she says with a grain of salt. Especially the foggy part.

In other news, my son is home. It is good to have him back. I also have a few house guests, as usual. The neighborhood kids stopped by last night to tell us something about "sucking balls". I jumped their ass about it, but did it do any good? No. They drive my son to distraction. They love him unconditionally, and follow him around like puppies. I look forward to the day when he has his own litter. HA!

Girl I am so happy that your son is home. I never heard of this medication . Funny my hubby and I were talking about all the risk that come with some med and if you listened to TV you would never take any pill ever again. Things are good here to lets hope we both have some quiet. all my lovev

So kids say more than just the darnedest things?

Enjoy your time with your son.

Have a great time with your son Deb.
What is a life-threatening rash? Is it a lot different from a regular rash?

Dawn, always a pleasure to hear from you. I always laugh when I read about the side effects that can occur with Viagra.

SJ, yes, kids say more than the darndest things, the little bastards....HA!

Moose, a life-threatening rash is one that causes the skin to become necrotic, which means terribly nasty, and if you lose enough skin, you will die from other infections, I suspect. Still reading about it though, as I developed an itch while taking this crap. It wasn't a good kind of itch, either....

Just Me, all these strange pills with their side effects. Sigh.
I hope this med you've got now works and you get cured of this rash.
And in the words of your doctor: "Don't scratch."
Reading the side effects is worse than listening to them on TV.
And you need a powerful magnifying glass, too. At least I do.
Hurry and get well.

Are you sure the rash isn't from sucking too many balls? Just wonderin'

Glad to hear things are going okay with you and yours. I just got home after 2 months on the road, Things are starting to melt here, but snow expected today. That's the March going out like a lion theory I guess. Best part about snow now is that it don't last long.

Take care and be well

Peace to all

Cat, thanks for the good thoughts. Yes, I need a magnifying glass too.

Joe, good to see you. I have been refraining from ball-sucking for some time now. It got to be a habit.
Glad you are doing well and back home.
blessings always,
deb

Geez now you've got me itching and scratching.

Hey, it's a miracle! I got new glasses with fancy progressive lenses and don't even need my magnifying glass.

LOL. The first time I said that sucks balls to my parents I was grounded for my life. Then I ran away so didn't last long!

I like reading your blog. I grew up in a military fam that moved around the Southeast and it's nice to visit...I was one of those puppies following the older cool kids. They helped me out a lot.

Babzy, I got some of those fancy lenses and almost killed myself by running into everything. They take some getting used to, at least for this old bird.

Spongy, I don't even want to think what I would have done if my boys had done something like that. Fortunately, they were always "good as gold" around strangers and neighbors.

Linda Margaret, good to see you here. Visited your blog and it is excellent. The cool kids threw rocks at me. HA!
